1. Who we are

New Tab Redirect and Tab Redirect Blocker (“we”, “us”, “our”) operates https://newtabredirect.com/ and the New Tab Redirect and Tab Redirect Blocker browser extension (the “Extension”).

2. Scope

This policy applies when you visit newtabredirect.com, purchase a Pro license, or use the Extension. It does not cover third-party websites you visit while using the Extension.

3. Summary

• Redirect and blocker settings are processed and stored on your device. We do not receive your new tab destination, block rules, site lists, or usage statistics unless you choose to send them to us (for example, in a support email).
• The Extension contacts newtabredirect.com only when you activate, check, or remove a Pro license.
• Shop purchases are handled through our website checkout and payment partners (see Section 6).

4. Data processed locally (Extension)

The following is stored in your browser only, using Chrome’s local extension storage:

• New tab redirect settings — redirect URL, preset choice, work/personal profiles, schedules, splash and delay options;
• Tab redirect blocker settings — blocked URLs or domains, block mode, custom message, bypass option, schedules;
• Site list and categories — custom sites, category assignments, and display preferences;
• Preferences — language, onboarding state, and whether the Extension is enabled;
• Statistics — redirect and block counts shown in the overview panel;
• Export/import files — if you export settings, the file remains on your device until you share it;
• Pro license information — license key, activation status, plan type, expiry, activation limits, and last verification time;
• Optional troubleshooting information — limited, non-sensitive details from the last license check, shown only in the Extension if needed for support.

This information is not uploaded to our servers as part of normal redirect or blocking use.

If you previously used Chrome sync for extension data, the Extension may once copy settings from Chrome’s sync storage into local storage on your device. That migration happens locally; we do not receive those settings.

5. Data sent to our servers (Extension)

If you use Pro, the Extension communicates with our license service on newtabredirect.com over HTTPS when you:

• activate a license;
• verify that a license is still valid;
• deactivate a license on this device.

In those cases, we may receive:

• your license key;
• an activation token associated with this browser installation.

We do not require your email inside the Extension to activate a license. We do not receive your browsing history, block lists, new tab targets, page content, or statistics through license checks.

6. Website and shop

When you use our website or purchase a license, we may process:

• Name, email, and billing address — to fulfill orders and deliver license keys;
• Payment information — processed by our payment provider at checkout. We do not store full card numbers on newtabredirect.com;
• Account information — if you create a customer account on our shop;
• IP address and server logs — for security, fraud prevention, and site operation;
• Support messages — if you contact us by email.

7. Cookies

We use essential cookies only, such as:

• website session and security cookies;
• shopping cart and checkout cookies when you purchase a license.

We do not use Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, or similar advertising or analytics trackers on newtabredirect.com at this time. If we add non-essential cookies later, we will update this policy and request consent where required by law.

8. How we use data

We use personal data to:

• provide New Tab Redirect and Tab Redirect Blocker;
• deliver and manage Pro licenses;
• process payments and orders;
• respond to support requests;
• maintain security and prevent abuse.

We do not sell personal information.

9. Service providers

We may share data with trusted service providers that help us operate our website, shop, email, hosting, and payment processing. They may process data only to provide services to us and must protect it appropriately.

Examples include hosting providers, e-commerce platform services, payment processors, and email delivery services.

10. Retention

• License records: kept for the license term and a reasonable period afterward;
• Orders: kept as required by applicable law;
• Support messages: kept until resolved, then deleted or anonymized within a reasonable period;
• Extension local data: kept until you uninstall the Extension or clear its data in your browser settings.

11. Security

We use HTTPS for our website and license-related communications. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.

12. International transfers

If you are located outside the country where our services are hosted, your information may be processed in other countries where our service providers operate, with appropriate safeguards where required by law.

13. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to certain processing of your personal data, and to request data portability or withdraw consent.

California residents: we do not sell personal information.

14. Children

New Tab Redirect and Tab Redirect Blocker is not directed at children under 16, or under 13 where applicable under local law.

15. Browser permissions

The Extension requests permissions only to provide its features:

The blocker runs on http/https pages. Built-in browser pages (such as chrome:// pages) are not modified by the blocker, although you may choose some internal browser URLs as a new tab redirect target.

License checks contact newtabredirect.com only. Redirect and blocking do not send your settings to our servers.

16. Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the effective date at the top of this page.
