Terms of Use

1. Agreement

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your access to newtabredirect.com (the “Site”), purchases in our shop, and use of the New Tab Redirect and Tab Redirect Blocker browser extension (the “Extension”), together the “Service”.

By using the Service, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. What the Service provides

New Tab Redirect lets you choose where every new browser tab opens—for example a dashboard, document, blank page, chrome:// page, or local HTML file you configure.

Tab Redirect Blocker lets you add websites to a personal block list. When you visit a blocked site, the Extension can show a block page or redirect you to a focus page you choose.

Redirect targets, block lists, schedules, statistics, and most settings are processed and stored locally in your browser. The Extension contacts newtabredirect.com only when you activate, verify, or deactivate a Pro license key—not for normal free use.

The website blocker runs on ordinary http/https pages. Built-in browser pages (e.g. chrome://, browser store pages) are not modified by the blocker, although you may use some internal browser URLs as a new tab redirect destination.

3. Accounts and eligibility

You must be able to form a binding contract in your jurisdiction. The Service is not directed at children under 16 (or under 13 where applicable under local law).

If you create a customer account on the Site, you are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for activity under your account.

4. Plans (Free, Professional, Startup)

Plans, features, and current prices are shown on newtabredirect.com and at checkout. Offerings are subject to change.

Free — no license key required:

  • New tab redirect to a URL you choose (presets or custom URL);
  • Website blocker with a limited number of URL/domain rules;
  • Overview statistics, presets, export/import of settings;
  • Multiple display languages.

Professional — paid yearly license:

  • Everything in Free;
  • Unlimited block rules;
  • Scheduled new tab redirect and scheduled blocking;
  • Site categories and block-by-category;
  • Work + Personal profiles with smart schedule;
  • A limited number of active browsers per license (shown at purchase);
  • License valid for the purchased term, then must be renewed unless cancelled.

Startup — paid lifetime license:

  • Everything in Professional;
  • A higher active-browser limit than Professional (shown at purchase);
  • One-time purchase; Pro features included for the commercial life of the product (see Section 14);
  • Future Pro updates included while the Service is offered.

Professional and Startup require a valid license key from our shop. When your key is active and valid, Free-tier limits and Pro-gated features do not apply. We may adjust plan limits, prices, or features with reasonable notice on the Site or in the Extension.

5. License keys

  • License keys are for personal or organizational use only as permitted by your plan. Do not publish, resell, or share keys beyond your allowed activation limit.
  • Activation uses your key and a device/browser activation token—see our Privacy Policy. Activation limits for each plan are shown on the Site and at checkout. Contact support if you need to free a slot before activating on a new browser.
  • Professional keys expire after the purchased yearly term unless renewed. Startup keys do not expire on a yearly cycle but remain subject to these Terms and service availability. Keys may be revoked if obtained fraudulently, abused, or shared in violation of these Terms.
  • You are responsible for storing your key. We are not liable for lost keys sent only to an email address you mistyped at checkout.

6. Purchases, payment, and subscriptions

Prices and plans are shown on the Site and at checkout. Payment is processed by Creem.io (and related checkout flows). We do not store full payment card numbers on newtabredirect.com.

After a successful purchase, license delivery is typically by email and/or your customer account. Ensure your email address is correct before paying.

Professional (yearly) subscriptions: Your subscription renews automatically each billing period unless you cancel before the renewal date. You may cancel renewal by:

  • using the Creem Customer Portal link in your purchase receipt or account, or
  • emailing support@newtabredirect.com with your order details.

Cancellation stops future charges; you may keep using Pro until the end of the current paid term. We do not provide partial refunds for unused time unless required by law.

7. Refunds

Professional and Startup licenses are digital goods. Unless required by applicable consumer law:

  • Refunds may be considered within a reasonable period after purchase if you contact support@newtabredirect.com with your order details and the license key has not been activated, or if there is a proven technical failure we cannot resolve.
  • We generally do not refund after a key has been activated, except where the law requires it.
  • Chargebacks without contacting us first may result in license revocation.

8. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • use the Service for any unlawful purpose;
  • use the Extension to hijack, mislead, or redirect users without their knowledge or consent (including distributing a modified build that forces redirects to sites they did not configure);
  • reverse engineer, scrape, or abuse the Extension, license API, or Site;
  • circumvent Free-tier or Pro limits (e.g. tampering with client-side checks);
  • overload or disrupt our servers or third-party sites;
  • block or redirect third-party sites in a way that violates their terms of service or applicable law.

Your redirect and block settings are your responsibility. You choose which URLs to open and which sites to block. Do not use the Service to interfere with systems you are not authorized to control.

9. Intellectual property

The New Tab Redirect name, branding, Site content, and Extension software are owned by us or our licensors. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, revocable license to use the Extension and Site for personal or internal business use according to these Terms and your plan.

You retain rights to settings and data you create locally. You must respect third-party rights on websites you visit or link to (copyright, trademarks, and those sites’ terms).

Preset names and third-party trademarks (e.g. social networks listed as shortcuts) belong to their respective owners.

10. Third-party services and websites

The Service may link to or interact with third parties (browsers, Creem, hosting providers, and websites you choose to visit or block). We are not responsible for their content, policies, or availability. Your use of those services is subject to their terms.

11. Disclaimer

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR THAT BLOCKING OR REDIRECTS WILL WORK ON EVERY PAGE OR IN EVERY BROWSER CONFIGURATION.

12. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE AND OUR OPERATOR WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.

OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATING TO THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US FOR THE LICENSE IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM, OR (B) USD $50.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations; in those cases, our liability is limited to the minimum permitted by law.

13. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless us and our operator from claims arising out of your misuse of the Service, violation of these Terms, or infringement of third-party rights.

14. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate access to the Site, shop, or license validation if you breach these Terms or for operational or legal reasons. You may stop using the Service at any time by uninstalling the Extension and cancelling any active subscription.

If we discontinue the Service, Startup (lifetime) licenses remain valid only for the commercial life of the product—we will use reasonable efforts to provide notice on the Site. “Lifetime” means the life of the Service, not your lifetime.

Sections that by nature should survive (e.g. disclaimers, liability limits, indemnity) survive termination.

15. Changes

We may update these Terms. The effective date at the top will change for material updates. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated Terms. For material changes, we may also post a notice on the Site.

16. General

  • Entire agreement: These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the main agreement between you and us regarding the Service.
  • Severability: If one provision is invalid, the rest remain in effect.
  • No waiver: Failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver.
  • Assignment: You may not assign these Terms without our consent; we may assign them in connection with a merger or sale of the Service.
  • Governing law: These Terms are governed by the laws applicable to the operator of newtabredirect.com, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Courts in the operator’s principal place of business have exclusive jurisdiction where permitted; consumers in mandatory local law jurisdictions may have additional rights.
